Off to Paris

I left home early this morning and arrived in good time in Vancouver- beautiful city from an airplane. After a few anxious moments, Joe arrived and checked in. We are both good to go and the flight leaves in about 3 hours. I am both excited and nervous, I'm not sure which is the stronger feeling. I am already envious of Joe's bag- it's about half the size of mine. You can see below that my packsack is quite full and weighs about 9 kg. Also check out my feet- we'll see how they look at the end of the month!

24 hours till Take off!

Welcome to my conversations on walking a small part of the Camino de Santiago in Spain. I will try and keep you posted on what is happening and interesting events along the way. To date, The journey has been quite onerous- from Monday evening at 6 pm when Joe M called to say he was going, it has been a whirlwind of preparations. We finally got all three flights worked out yesterday and booked a hotel for this Friday in Santiago. Saturday we will hopefully get a bus and reach the girls who should be in Ponferrada or close by. I have never carried a pack and am very nervous! Probably as much about how few things I can really take for one month of travel as anything! I am down to the bare minimum and let's hope it doesn't get too cold or rainy. Packing light is a skill in and of itself. Today is the last time I can make choices- everything must be in by tonight. Say a prayer for me and we'll talk again soon.
